Augie Lerch isn’t a typical race car driver. While most kids play video games and listen to music, Augie enjoys cliff jumping and creating music with his friends. He is a skilled pianist who has been practicing for 14 years and you will always find him and his friends on different kinds of adventures. Growing up in Arizona has attributed to Augie being such an adventurous, outdoorsy person. Surrounded by mountains, deserts and nature he learned to create his own fun during downtimes. He also learned that by living without limits and being adventurous, he was able to live a more fulfilling life.
Being an adrenaline junkie, Augie doesn’t like to limit himself. Cliff jumping, hiking, skiing, dirt biking, surfing, mountain climbing are all things you will find him doing. When it comes to his racing career, Augie’s dream is to try all forms of motorsport.
"Being outside is a humbling experience, it makes you appreciate the little things, and can also show you just how powerful mother nature is. I believe that life truly begins when you're on the edge of your comfort zone."
"Augie has a great work ethic, demeanor and comes from a great family. He has what it takes to be successful in Motorsport."
- PJ Jones
Augie started school in a normal Catholic school system but, after missing 52 days due to racing, his parents decided to homeschool him. He will be graduating this year and plans on applying to the University of Arizona to study business and engineering on either a full-time or part-time basis. Being a race car driver leaves little time for much else so, when Augie isn’t at the track, he likes to spend as much time as he can with his family in their Tucson, Arizona home. Although his family isn’t quite as adventurous as he is they still enjoy listening to his wild stories and closely following his racing career.
