Augie Lerch, native of Tucson, Arizona grew up around motorsports - taking his first ride on a dirt bike rather than bicycle. From there, Lerch began kart racing by the age of 7-years-old. Working his way through the ranks in karting, he took on both National and International Championships. Lerch has participated in SKUSA SuperNationals several years, placing 3rd in the 2013 events in S2 Championship class. Following his podium finish in SuperNationals, Lerch competed in the Rok Cup International at South Garda.

In that same year, Augie began his open wheel career, joining Team Pelfrey for the 2014 F1600 Championship Series, where he would place 3rd in the Championship. For 2015, Lerch entered in the Mazda Road to Indy with JAY Motorsports. Mid-season, Lerch made the decision to stop running in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Series Powered By Mazda to pursue alternate racing opportunities in the following racing season.

Meanwhile, Lerch is going back to his kart racing roots and competing. To date he raced in the Fikse Wheels 2015 Pro Tour Presented by SKUSA and participated in a fundraising kart event for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana.

"What motivates me to keep pushing is success, just the feeling of success, if you don’t even win the weekend but you feel like you’ve gained ground then that’s your personal success and if you can be happy with that, that’s good for you, and that’s what I race for."
